Quartersawn Flooring (Williamsburg)
Widths: 3" - 6" (inches) random widths
Lengths: 6' - 12' (95%)
Character: special feature, clear character, highest quality...
Quartersawn boards are taken from the log at a different angle than the plain sawn boards typically used in flooring. As a result, the grains and the marks on the clear boards are completely different than those of plain sawn floors. As a result, the "stability" of a quartersawn floor is superior to a plain flooring, and is recommended highly for use in radiant floor heating.
